Lightning Dust is a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2007 and based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

History

The band is a side project of Amber Webber and Joshua Wells, both members of Black Mountain.[1] Wells has described the band, whose sound is softer and more melodic than Black Mountain's hard rock, as arising from the desire to "do something that was sparse and minimal, and with a lot of space around it.",[1] while Webber has described the band as an opportunity to "explore her goth side."[2]

The band released its self-titled debut album on Jagjaguwar in 2007. The song "Wind Me Up" was featured as the free "Single of the Week" in the iTunes music store (Canada).

Another album, Infinite Light, was released in August 2009. The band were chosen by Matt Groening to perform at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in May 2010 in Minehead, England.

A third album, Fantasy, was released June 25, 2013.[3] In 2014, their song Loaded Gun has been used in French television series Série Noire, on SRC.
