Ligumia nasuta (eastern pondmussel) is a species of freshwater mussel, an aquatic bivalve mollusk in the family Unionidae, the river mussels.
This species is endemic to the United States and Canada, with only two known Canadian populations.[1] Like many Unionoid mussels, female eastern pondmussels display a lure to attract their fish hosts (see video). Underwater video of a female L. nasuta displaying
