Liliko Ogasawara
Liliko Ogasawara is a former international competitor in judo.[1] Ogasawara was born in May 21, 1972 in Englewood, New Jersey.
Martial Arts Career
She trained in judo since she was 3 years old.[2] She would place in multiple national championships.[3] She also won over 10 golds in international competitions.[3] She won silver in the 1993 World Judo Championships. She won Bronze at the 1995 World Championships in Japan.[4] She did this while fighting out of San Jose, California.[4] A hamstring injury stopped her from being able to fully train for Judo at the 1996 Summer Olympics.[5] [6] She would compete in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.[7] She competed in the 66 kg division (146 lbs)[1] She would tie for 7th upon losing to Wang Xianbo of China.[5]
Author
Nagayasu Ogasawara and Liliko Ogasawara were the authors of a Judo video series "White to Black."[8]
Personal life
She is the singer of Sessomorte.[9] She is a 5th degree blackbelt in Judo.[9] She is also a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey.[10]
