Lin Gengxin (Chinese: 林更新), born 13 February 1988 Shenyang, Liaoning province, China, is a Chinese actor. Lin is known for his role in Scarlet Heart.
Education
Lin Gengxin enrolled in the Shanghai Theatre Academy in 2007. During his college years, Lin appeared in low-budget films, television shows, short films and advertisements. He worked with experienced actors such as Betty Sun and Alex Fong.
Early Work
Scarlet Heart is a television program based on Tong Hua's novel of the same name (2006). It first aired on "Hunan TV" on 10 September 2011. Filming finished on 20 March 2011. Lin portrayed the 14th Prince Yinti, a youthful, carefree and gentle person who was willing to sacrifice his life to protect and support his eighth brother. Lin won a Sohu drama festival award for "Best Male Newcomer". The TV show made him well-known in China and other parts of Asia. Through his fame from Scarlet Heart, Lin received an offer to do a sequel, yet he rejected it.[1]
Current
On January 24, 2015, Lin Geng Xin started filming for God of War, Zhao Yun.[2] The drama program stars Lin Geng Xin, Im YoonA, and Kim Jeong Hoon, and it boasts a high production cost and an ensemble cast.[3] The first original broadcast started on April 3, 2016 and would end on May 7, 2016.
