Linda Reinstein (December 28, 1955, San Diego, California) is the co-founder of the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization, a nonprofit focused on asbestos awareness and preventing related diseases through education, advocacy, and community efforts.[1][2] Since the diagnosis of her husband, Alan Reinstein, from mesothelioma in 2003, she has become a leading global anti-asbestos activist.[3][4] Reinstein is also primarily responsible for organizing ADAO's Annual International Asbestos Awareness Conference, an annual international scientific, medical and patient conference now in its 11th year.

Background

In 2003, Linda's husband Alan was diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma. In 2004, she co-founded the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) to reach out to others affected by the disease.[5] Reinstein has written numerous articles,[6] produced anti-asbestos videos and is active on social media working towards a ban on the world-wide use of asbestos.

Speaking on behalf of ADAO, Reinstein has made numerous presentations throughout the U.S., and in South Africa, Japan, Turkey, Mexico, Thailand, The Netherlands, France, China, Italy, India, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Pakistan, Germany, and England.
