Lindsey Islands
Lindsey Islands (73°37′S 103°18′W / 73.617°S 103.300°WCoordinates: 73°37′S 103°18′W / 73.617°S 103.300°W) is a group of islands lying just off the northwest tip of Canisteo Peninsula in Amundsen Sea. Delineated from air photos taken by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump in December 1946. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Alton A. Lindsey, biologist with the Byrd Antarctic Expedition, 1933-35.
