Lisa Stanley (born 30.11.1960) is an English/Irish singer, songwriter, and presenter. Stanley was born in Sligo, Ireland, and is the daughter of entertainment legends Maisie McDaniel and Fintan Stanley.

Early career

Her career started in the late 90s. Her first noble performance was at the Cavan International Song Contest. She sang "Dreamer of Dreams," a song that was written by Larry Keogh. However, she rose to fame in 2000 when she sung her own composition, "Shine," from a field of over 1000 entries to the final of eight songs presented in the national Song Contest. This was held on 20 February 2000 at the RTÉ television centre in Dublin. The year after, she sung the same song at the Baltic Song Contest which took place in Karlshamn, Sweden. She again, reached the finals. In 2004, Lisa toured the country with “Dancehall Queues and Hucklebuck Shoes.” This show featured the children of famous Irish Showband stars. After appearances in various television shows and releasing her first album, Love Me A Little Bit Longer she fast became a well known face on the U.K. Country Music scene.

Albums

Stanley's first solo album, Love Me A Little Bit Longer were major breakthroughs in her career. She was voted the best country female singer in the Irish entertainment awards 2010.[1] It is currently her best-selling album. In 2008, Stanley released Lisa Stanley Sings The Hits Of Maisie McDaniel a tribute to her mother, who died that year. This album with Sandy Kelly and Philomena Begley, country female vocalists who both worked with her mother sung duets on the CD. Along with Maisie's sister, Deirdre McDaniel. In the following years she created the album Duets. She has appeared many times on Keep It Country Music, and Currently presents Sky TV’s The Phil Mack International Country Show

Stanley released her latest album, Duets with Philomena Begley, John Hogan and Sandy Kelly.

Television and radio

She has presented the Phil McCountry show with Phil Mack for SKY TV.[2][3]

Awards

Stanley has won numerous awards, including Irish entertainment awards,[4] Leinster entertainment award for vocalist of the year in 2012.[5] She has sold over 20 million albums worldwide, including five million of Love Me A Little Bit Longer.
