Alison "Lissa" Muscatine is the current co-owner of Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC. Muscatine was a Senior Adviser and Chief of Speechwriting at the U.S. State Department. She was also a speechwriter for Senator Clinton's 2008 Presidential campaign. She served as a speechwriter and the communications director when Clinton was First Lady.[1] As one of Secretary Clinton's closest advisors, she is a member of Hillaryland. Muscatine received her B.A. in history from Radcliffe College of Harvard University and her Master's in Philosophy, Politics and Economics in 1977 from Wadham College, Oxford as an Rhodes Scholar.

Muscatine is the daughter of Charles Muscatine and is married to former Washington Post editor Bradley Graham, and together they run Politics and Prose bookstore. Muscatine is on the Board of Trustees of the Sidwell Friends School.
