Broad City is an American comedy series that premiered on January 22, 2014 on Comedy Central. The series was created by and stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson as two best friends who navigate everyday life in New York City.

Ilana runs into her doppelgänger (Alia Shawkat) while working at a dinner party, and they begin seeing each other regularly. While working coat check at the party, Abbi accidentally gives away a coat that belongs to Kelly Ripa. Abbi tracks down the coat in hopes that it'll lead to her forming a friendship with Kelly. Her plan is successful, but she's surprised to learn that Kelly isn't as glamorous as she seems on television. Abbi points out to Ilana that her new fling looks exactly like her, shocked by the sudden realization Ilana ultimately decides to end the relationship when she finds out that her counterpart doesn't smoke weed. When Ilana arrives at brunch with Abbi, she drops the key to her bike lock down a sewer grate. When attempting to reach the key Abbi ruins her top, so Abbi & Ilana must go to a hostile pop up shop before they go to Abbi's college roommate Max's gallery opening. While trying on a new top, Abbi's old top is stolen forcing her to buy the new top. After they leave Abbi realizes the security tag wasn't taken off the top but when they return to remove it the store is no longer there. Later at the gallery Ilana attempts to remove the security tag with her teeth and ink shoots onto Max's painting, Abbi and Ilana are then thrown out. Ilana learns that she's run out of time to complete her volunteer hours for the Food Co-Op she's a member of. Ilana convinces Abbi to pose as her and complete the hours while she goes to her Doctor's appointment. Abbi falls for a boy named Craig who works at the Co-Op and reveals her identity to him. Deals! Deals! Deals! promotes Ilana allowing her to run the company's social media accounts. Meanwhile, Abbi prepares for her first "Soulstice Games" since being promoted from cleaner to trainer, but worries her anger will get the best of her. Ilana leaves work to try and stop Abbi from competing, but Abbi knocks out Jemma with a Pugil stick and continues to pummel her face with it. Trey doesn't fire Abbi after assuming she started steroids after being promoted, saying most of the trainers there take them when they start. Later, Ilana is fired from Deals! After Ilana and Jaime spend all their rent money on an Exterminator, they decide to throw a party and charge a cover fee in order to make back their money. Abbi joins Tinder after Trey drunkenly attempts to kiss her at the Summer Solstice Soulstice Party. Their party becomes a success when Jaimé convinces Abbi to invite a bunch of guys from Tinder, but she ends up spending the whole night tracking down the rat in her apartment the exterminator failed to kill. Lots of ugly dudes show up to the party as Abbi didn't realize she had the option to "Swipe Left" and ignore guys. Abbi attempts to have her License photo retaken, while Ilana gets a job as a bike messenger from the temp agency. Abbi injures her neck getting her hair done causing Ilana to have to bike Abbi to her chiropractor (Alan Alda). Ilana's bike route takes her to a volunteer center for Hillary Clinton where she signs up as a volunteer (not knowing she won't be paid). When she learns she isn't making any money she informs Mrs. Clinton that she can't continue to volunteer but promises to continue supporting her via Twitter. Ilana accompanies Abbi as she returns home to Wayne, Pennsylvania in order to clean out her childhood bedroom. While doing so she realizes she still has the money she raised from the dance-a-thon she held to raise money for her childhood friend Alice who was hit by a school bus. While traveling across various parts of Wayne trying to track down Alice, Abbi & Ilana frequently find themselves needing to spend the fundraiser money in order to continue searching for her. They finally reach Alice's home only to realize she lives in a mansion and has a successful modeling career. While video chatting each other on the toilet, Abbi & Ilana decide to post their apartments on a BnB listing website for the night. When their plan to camp on the roof of Ilana's apartment building fails, they decide to stay out and party all night until their guests leave in the morning. While out Ilana seduces Blake Griffin and Abbi learns that her apartment was ransacked by her guest. Ilana and Blake get "creative" when they can't have intercourse due to the size of Blake's penis, while Abbi invites Trey to spend the night at her apartment so she'll feel safe. While hooking up in the shower, Abbi and Trey make plans to go on their first date. While together in the park, Abbi continues to lie to Ilana about her relationship with Tre. Lincoln shows up at the park and informs Ilana that he has a girlfriend now and he can't continue his open relationship with Ilana. Ilana, unprepared for the news, runs away and meets up with her family for her parents anniversary dinner. When Abbi arrives for her date with Trey she realizes she's at the same restaurant Ilana's family is dining at, Ilana's mother spots her and invites her to join them. The rest of the episode is an homage to the movie, Mrs. Doubtfire, where Abbi spends the remainder of the evening running back and forth between both tables, and drinking heavily. As in Mrs. Doubtfire, Ilana's mother begins choking, and Abbi calls for Trey from across the restaurant to save Ilana's mother, which he does by performing the Heimlich Maneuver. When trying to console a distraught Ilana, Abbi tells Ilana that dating Trey was just a joke (which Trey overhears) only to find out Ilana's only upset because of what happened with Lincoln. Part 2 of 2. During their flight to Israel, Abbi and Ilana struggle to find people to switch seats with on the airplane. When they finally manage find seats near each other, Abbi gets her period but doesn't have tampons since she was forced to check her carry on bag at the gate. Abbi and Ilana struggle to find tampons and two flight attendants overhear Abbi describing her period as an explosion. They are both apprehended, are denied entrance to Israel and the season ends with them discussing having sex with Jesus Christ as the plane descends.
