Seeded finals
The top two seeds have met in 45 finals with the No. 2 seeds leading 23–22.
The longest consecutive run of both finalists being seeded is also the current streak of 32 beginning with the 2008 French Open. But this is due to the expansion to 32 seeded players per tournament in 2001. The current streak of top-16 seeded finalists (the prior amount) is 27 starting with the 2009 Wimbledon; the record is 31 from the 1986 Wimbledon through the 1994 Australian Open.
All countrymen in final
Seven countries (Australia, United States, Sweden, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Spain, Argentina) have had two countrymen play in a final.
First-timer finals
There have been 16 finals between first-time Open Era finalists.
