List of Gurjars

Gurjar are an ethnic group in India, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Alternative spellings include Gurjara, Gujar, Gurjjar and Gujjar.

The following is a partial list of notable Gurjars.

  1. Rajesh Pilot (1945–2000) was an Indian politician and a minister in the Government of India.He belonged to the Indian National Congress party and represented the Dausa constituency in Lok Sabha. His original name was Rajesh Bidhuri.
  2. Rao Kadam Singh, the Gurjar fight against the British during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.[1]
  3. Rukhsana Kausar,[2] who received the National Bravery Award (the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak) for killing a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant at her home.
  4. Kirori Singh Bainsla is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Army and was the leader of an Indian caste protest movement
  5. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is an Indian international cricketer.He plays for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
  6. Sachin Pilot is a politician and a member of the Indian National Congress. He represented Ajmer constituency of Rajasthan at member of Indian Parliament in the 15th Lok Sabha. He was Minister of Corporate Affairs and the President of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee.
  7. Krishan Pal Gurjar is an Indian politician and a member of parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha representing the Fariabad constituency in the state of Haryana. He is now a Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment. He was minister for transport in Bansi Lal led Government of Haryana from 1996-99. He also served as bjp state president for Haryana.
