Alex takes a pregnancy test because everyone thinks she's pregnant. Meanwhile her husband Brad loves his job more than he loves her, but wants to make up for it. Randal is having an affair with Alex, but he finds out that Brad had a vasectomy. Marcie and maybe Randal want to have children but they're having a hard time. Esperanza deals with her ex-husband Eddie who wants to control her life(despite him being remarried and having children) because she has a new boyfriend, Julius. Eddie picks on Randal for unknown reasons. Kelly wants to buy a house for her boyfriend and kids, but her boyfriend Travis is overseas and acting strange. Natalie is dealing with her son who’s in jail for selling drugs and wondering if she should let him come home or stay in jail. Lushion is the father of Natalie's youngest son, who’s want to help her with all her struggles, and that’s the reason he moved back to town, but he can’t a get a job (he used to be a cop) and this annoys Natalie. At the end of the episode Alex tells Brad that she’s pregnant but he knows it can’t be by him. Note: The character Esperanza is played by and based on the same character from The Single Moms Club. The character Natalie is based on the character “Lytia Wright” from The Single Moms Club. Differences from the movie: (1) The girls meet because their kids are on the same sports team; unlike the movie where their kids got into trouble. (2) Esperanza’s story is retold and her ex-husband is more violent. | ||||

Brad knows that Alex must be cheating and he tries to find out who. Randal comes by Brad and Alex’s house to convince him to tell Alex about getting a vasectomy. After Randal gets some coffee and decides to drink from the mug that says: “I–heart-Alex.” Alex catches him and forces Randal to use a different mug. Lushion tries to ask Eddie for a job at the police station because he works there, but when Lushion sees him abusing Esperanza, he jumps in and later refuses to get any help from him. Marcie just wants to be a part of the girls group but they’re distant towards her. The girls go to check out a house for Kelly but the girls carpool in Alex’s car leaving Marcie to drive alone and feeling left out. Kelly buys the house and calls Travis but a girl answers the phone and she questions Kelly about being Travis’ girlfriend and then hangs up on her. Kelly is in denial. Back at Alex’s house Marcie is in the kid's bedroom crying and she tells Alex (her so called: ‘best friend’) that she thinks her husband Randal is cheating on her with woman that can have kids, because she still can’t get pregnant. After Randal talks to Alex asking her why Brad is angry at her, Eddie intervenes. Esperanza comes back home to find out Eddie broke in and has gone through her things. Now knowing the name of her new boyfriend, he storms off in a rage seeking Julius. Esperanza warns Julius, but it’s too late. Eddie pulls him over, shoots him in the leg and then calls for back-up on the radio. | ||||

Esperanza interrogates Edward about the whereabouts of her boyfriend Julius. Out of desperation, she threatens Edward by mentioning that she will tell his boss what he has done. Meanwhile, Brad suspects that Alex is having an affair, and asks Randal for his help. Then, Natalie reaches the end of her rope in her attempts to care for her kids alone, and she calls the parole board to get Joey out of prison. Later, while Kelly and the girls move her things into her new house, Alex reveals to Randal that she is pregnant. Finally, Julius plans to get revenge on Eddie. | ||||

Elsewhere, Travis goes to see Kelly with the hopes of remaining in her life. When Kelly drops off Travis' things at his parents' house, she gets an earful from his mother, Mattaline, who makes it clear that her only issue with Kelly is her age. During a game night at Alex and Brad's house, a game of truth with Randal and Marcie leads to some awkward moments for everyone. | ||||
