List of It Ain't Half Hot Mum episodes

This is an episode list for the BBC television sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, broadcast between 3 January 1974, and 3 September 1981.

It Ain't Half Hot Mum episodes were filmed between 1973 and 1981 with a break in 1979.

Series 1 to 4 took place in Deolali, India, whilst series 5 to 8 took place in Tin Min, Burma.

All episodes are 30 minutes long.

The lost episodes "A Star is Born" and "It's a Wise Child" were lost at one stage after first broadcast, but VHS copies recorded at home by a viewer in Australia were found in 1988. They are not of broadcast quality, but were included as extras on the season 1 DVD.

Whilst playing the RMS Lollipop, The Concert Party hear that Japan has surrendered on the USS Missouri and the Second World War is over. One single Japanese soldier has not heard the news that Japan has surrendered. Can the men from the Concert Party convince him to lay down his weapons? Also starring Nicholas McArdle and Gordon Salkilld.

Note: This episode is based on real life events; for years Japanese soldiers continued fighting and refused to believe the war had ended; the last surrendered in 1974, the year the show began.

Now that the war is over, the natives return to their village. They want the men from the Concert Party to move out so that they can return to their homes. Sergeant Major Williams insists on dealing with them in a less than diplomatic fashion. Also starring Renu Setna and Ali Baba.

It's time for the men from the Concert Party to start the return journey to Britain. Everyone is supposed to have injections before setting off. The vaccine runs out before Lofty gets his jabs, so he has to stay behind when the others begin their journey. A new batch of vaccine turns up after the others have left, so Lofty is given his injections and, accompanied by the Char Wallah, he sets off to try to catch up with the main evacuation party. Also starring Ishaq Bux, Roger Whieldon, John D. Collins, Colin Haigh and Graham Hamilton.
