Noragami, and its side story Noragami: Stray Stories, are manga written by Adachi Toka. While Noragami is currently serialised monthly in Monthly Shōnen Magazine, Noragami: Stray Stories is on-hold, or potentially dropped. The story follows the god Yato, and his encounter with society.

Noragami is currently released in 15 tankōbon volumes and 9 volumes have been translated into English as of December 22, 2015. Noragami is also being translated into Italian, French, and German, by respectively GP Manga, Pika Édition,[1] and Egmont Manga.[2] Noragami: Stray Stories has been released as a single volume.

A poor god named Yato answers a five-yen prayer from a young girl named Mutsumi who has been bullied by her stressed by her own classmates. Using the power of his servant that can transform into a weapon, the Regalia Tomone, Yato destroys an evil spirit that has been causing the stress on the student. While Mutsumi is able to start new bonds with her mates, Tomone quits tired of Yato's works. Yato takes up a new request to find a missing cat. Whilst he is doing that, a girl named Hiyori Iki tries to save him from an upcoming bus but is hit by the bus herself. She becomes half-phantom and prays for Yato to go back to normal. As Yato needs a new Regalia, he finds the spirit of a young boy he names Yukine. Transforming him into a sword, he destroys a large evil spirit.

Yato introduces Hiyori and Yukine to Tenjin, the god of academics and becomes shocked to the revelation that Tomone joined him under her new name of Mayu. In the meantime, Yato gets a job where he and Yukine destroy a phantom that was forcing a student to kill himself. After that, Yukine starts stealing or and making sins, Yato suffers injuries. He and Hiyori meet a the deceased spirit of a young girl and escape when it becomes a phantom. Yato later introduces Hiyori and Yukine to the god of poverty Kofuku and her Regalia Daikoku so that they might help them in the future. On their way back, Yato and Yukine are attacked by the god of combat Bishamonten who has a personal vendetta with Yato and tries to kill them. As Yato and Yukine try to escape, they are saved by Kofuku. Afterwards, Yato meets the Regalia Nora.

Nora is revealed to be Yato's former Regalia who is trying to be by his side again. However, Yato decides to be with Yukine despite the sins he keeps making. Hiyori meets one of Bishamon's Regalia, Kazuma, who is a former acquaintance of Yato. In another job, Yato meets a student named Hagiwara Manabu who has been bullied by his mates. Due to Yukine's recent actions, Yato works alone and gives Manabu a knife to face one of the bullies. Despite giving him another one, in the end Manabu decides not to attack his bully after scaring him. After this, Yato collapses due to Yukine's actions and Hiyori takes him to Kofuku's place. Daikoku, Kazuma and Mayu punish Yukine almost turning him into a phantom. However, due to Yato and Hiyori's encouragements, Yukine accepts his sins cleaning himself and saving Yato.
