- Bobby Doerr, at 98, is the oldest living member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He gained induction in 1986. In addition, Doerr is the oldest living major league coach, having coached with the Boston Red Sox (1967–69) and Toronto Blue Jays (1977-81). He is also the last man alive who played in the major leagues during the 1930s.
- Dave Garcia, at 95, is the oldest living major league manager; he managed the California Angels (1977–78) and the Cleveland Indians (1979–82).
- Eddie Basinski, at 93, is the oldest living major leaguer mentioned in the Dave Frishberg song Van Lingle Mungo
- Red Hoff, a pitcher for the New York Yankees and St. Louis Browns, is the longest-lived major leaguer. He died in 1998, aged 107 years, 132 days.
- Silas Simmons, who played in the Negro leagues, is believed to be the longest-lived baseball player in history. His year of birth is disputed, but he was at least 109 and possibly 111 at the time of his death in 2006.
