Crimson series
- Phoron Tatara (タタラ・フォロン Tatara Foron)
- Voiced by: Hiroshi Kamiya (anime)
- Voiced by: Tatsuya Kohashi (game)
- The main protagonist. Phoron is a Dantist working in the Tsuge Divine Music Player Office. Although he is the master of the Red spirit, Corticarte, he doesn't have a full control over her (because Cortica always wants to follow her own will). He plays an organ-like instrument (that is seen in the first season [Shinkyoku Sōkai Polyphonica] that can transform into a motorbike. He also uses a backpack-sized piano-like One-Man Orchestra on those occasions where he cannot use his motorbike. He is very kind, but naive and somewhat dense. He once said that he plays Commandia for "someone he loves" meaning his contract spirit "Corti."
- Corticarte Apa Lagranges (コーティカルテ・アパ・ラグランジェス Kōtikarute Apa Raguranjesu)
- Voiced by: Haruka Tomatsu (anime)
- Voiced by: Riko Hirai (game)
- The spirit, Phoron made a contract with. Corti, as Phoron calls her, is one of the eldest spirits in their world, having six wings, and is known as the Red Elder Spirit —- as well as other titles including Crimson Annihilator or Bloody Duchess. She was entranced by the young Phoron's singing voice and thus decided to make a pact with him so he would be hers and hers only. In Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica Crimson S, she has eight wings and is called 'Crimson Queen'. Corti has a somewhat tsundere attitude regarding Phoron, but this can be thought of more as her not suffering fools gladly, since she actively competes with Perse for Phoron's affections and, in the anime, was shown to initiate closer contact (holding hands) with him.
- Most of the time, Corti appears as a child, but when Phoron plays his Commandia she matures into an adult figure. She was contracted with Kuchiba Kaoru in the past.
- Eufinley Tsuge (ツゲ・ユフィンリー Tsuge Yufinrī)
- Voiced by: Ayako Kawasumi (anime)
- Voiced by: Keiko Suzuki (game)
- The boss of the Tsuge Divine Music Player Office. She plays a violin-like instrument and is very strict. She has a contract with two spirits, Yardio and Mashat, the latter of whom is seldom seen. In the Shinkyoku Sōkai Polyphonica Crimson S she is contracted to a 4-winged wolf spirit named Wolfis and plays a major part in fighting against the enemy.
- Yardio Voda Munagoul (ヤーディオ・ウォダ・ムナグール Yādio Voda Munagūru)
- Voiced by: Nobuyuki Hiyama (anime)
- Eufinley's covenant spirit. On the day they meet, Yardio quickly tried to make a covenant by kissing her, but received a punch to the face instead. He is a laid back character in contrast to the more serious Eufinley. He also likes to fight, and his power level is greater than most four winged spirits. Unlike Corti, Yardio is more blatant in showing his affection for his contractor.
- Renbart Saiki (サイキ・レンバルト Saiki Renbaruto)
- Voiced by: Katsuyuki Konishi (anime)
- Voiced by: Ryūichi Kubota (game)
- Phoron's friend and co-worker in Tsuge Divine Music Player Office. He plays a saxophone-like instrument, and is usually seen with small two-winged fairies. He has not made a contract with a spirit.
- Perserte Yugiri (ユギリ・ペルセルテ Yugiri Peruserute)
- Voiced by: Nana Mizuki (anime)
- Voiced by: Michi Tanaka (game)
- The older of the twin sisters who go to the Divine Player Academy and work at Tsuge Divine Music Player Office. She is brash and blonde and has a thing for Divine Players in general and Phoron, in particular, even going so far as to compete with Corti for his affections.
- Prinesca Yugiri (ユギリ・プリネシカ Yugiri Purineshika)
- Voiced by: Rina Satou (anime)
- Voiced by: Tsubasa Yū (game)
- Prinesca is Perserte's younger twin sister. She also goes to the Divine Player Academy and works at Tsuge Divine Music Player Office. Everyone in the office, except for Phoron, usually addresses her as Prine (プリネ Purine). She is no longer fully human because when she was a child, she almost died in a terrible accident. Her father's contract spirit saved Prinesca's life by fusing herself with Prine at the cost of her own life. This changed her appearance (hair and eyes).
- Bōrai (ボウライ Bōrai) and Jimutīru (ジムティル Jimutīru)
- Small two-winged flying fairies that are attracted to music. A number of them can usually be found with Renbart although they will appear anywhere that Commandia are played or sung. Renbart uses them to complete tasks since he has not contracted with a greater spirit yet.
- The Headmaster a.k.a. Shidara Leitos
- Voiced by: Sho Hayami
- Appears in Shinkyoku Sōkai Polyphonica Crimson S as a tall, silver-blond-haired bishounen. The headmaster is contracted to at least two spirits and seems to have a keen interest in Phoron's progression as a Dantist in addition to his usual concerns as the head of a school. He is also aware of others who have an interest in some of his students, and Phoron in particular (perhaps explaining his interest in the young man). He is in fact several hundred years old and one of the four original Dantists.
- Elaine
- Voiced by: Hitomi Nabatame
- Appears in Shinkyoku Sōkai Polyphonica Crimson S. A four-winged spirit who takes the form of a woman with long green hair and who is contracted to the headmaster of the Dantist Academy.
- Mizelldrit
- Voiced by: Ai Nonaka
- Appears in Shinkyoku Sōkai Polyphonica Crimson S. A two-winged spirit who can take the form of an older girl/young teen with pink hair and who is contracted to the headmaster of the Dantist Academy. He occasionally sends her out on missions as a scout/spy for which she takes on the form of a Borei.
- Leica Karazaki
- Voiced by: Kumi Sakuma
- Appears as an antagonist in Shinkyoku Sōkai Polyphonica Crimson S. She is a woman with purple hair and eyes who appears at the Dantist Academy posing as an inspector from Commandia Public Corp. The Headmaster has Eufinley deal with her for him. In truth, Leica is a Dantist who has made a contract with a four-winged spirit and is acting for a cabal who are looking to unearth the four legendary original instruments first used to affect spirits. She returns to the Academy that evening to investigate a locked room but she is driven off by Eufinley. Her next action is to use her Commandia to make a student of Phoron's, who has issues with him, pretend to have made a contract with a raccoon spirit (her own) and challenge Phoron to a duel. This ploy ends with Phoron playing a Commandia and causing Corti's third pair of wings to appear, confirming her identity to Leica, who retreats. She is killed in a later showdown between the Phoron and his allies from the Academy and the cabal.
