History

Tonka along with Hasbro Interactive developed and released their first video game in 1996, then continued publishing new games until 2006 with a total of 15 complete Tonka Toy video games.

Tonka Video Games

Tonka Construction

Tonka Construction was the first video game released by Tonka in 1996. It was developed by Playskool & Vortex Media Arts and released for both Mac & PC. The game was a 2D Construction/Building simulation game, with up to 14 different types of Tonka trucks for players to control. Players were given a task such as constructing buildings, landscaping skyscrapers, and designing parks. Mini-Games include players having to re-paint and repair vehicles.

Tonka Search & Rescue

Tonka Search & Rescue was the second video game released in 1997. Developed by Hasbro Interactive & Media Station, Inc. It was released for both Mac & PC. The game was a 2D Action/Adventure game where the player could use 22 featured Tonka vehicles in 12 different missions. Players repaired bridges, set up boardwalks, and more. Mini-Games included players re-painting & repairing vehicles along with fire fighter training and more.

Tonka Garage

Tonka Garage was the third game released in 1998. Developed by Hasbro Interactive & Media Station, Inc., it was released for PC. In this 2d game, the player operates a service station.

Tonka Raceway

Tonka Raceway is the fourth, and one of (if not) the most popular games in the Tonka series released in 1999. Developed by Hasbro Interactive & Media Station, Inc., and was released for PC and the Game Boy Color (Game Boy version was developed by Morning Star Multimedia, INC.)

Tonka Construction 2

Released in 1999, Tonka Construction 2 allowed children to build their own city in Tonka City, build a road and a town in the desert, hunt for treasure in the quarry, and build a mountain resort and ski trails in the mountains.

Tonka Space Station

Tonka Space Station was released in 2000 for the PlayStation and PC.
