This is a list of funicular railways, organised by place within country and continent. The funiculars range from short urban lines to significant multi-section mountain railways.
Note that it is sometimes hard to draw a line between a funicular railway and an incline elevator.

- At Joginder Nagar, Himachal Pradesh is India's highest funicular at 2500 metres. It was built in 1930s to carry heavy machinery of Shanan Power House to Barot.
