List of migrant vehicle incidents in Europe

Large number of migrants travel overland in Europe. Since the Schengen Agreement there are no regular border checks in most EU countries.

This article is a list of migrant vehicle incidents in Europe, involving injury and/or loss of life.

August 27

On August 27, 2015, Austrian police discovered a truck along the A4 highway in Austria and found 71 deceased migrants, including eight children. The truck, which had been parked on the shoulder in between the villages Neusiedl and Parndorf, had been noticed by an employee of the Asfinag highway agency who observed liquid seeping out and informed police.[3]

August 24

37 migrants are injured in an accident outside the village of Nickelsdorf in Austria. There were in between 70 and 90 migrants in the two trucks involved.[4]

August 21

24 migrants are injured (3 seriously) when the truck they were travelling in overturned near the Austrian village of Amstetten. There were 30 people in the vehicle at the time.[5]
