List of minefields in Croatia

As of 1 September 2015, minefields in Croatia cover 505.8 square kilometres (195.3 square miles) of territory.[1] The minefields (usually known as "mine suspected areas") are located in 10[1] counties and 77[1] cities and municipalities. These areas are thought to contain approximately 50,966[1] land mines, in addition to unexploded ordnance left over from the Croatian War of Independence.
The area suspected of containing land mines is marked using more than 15,000 warning signs.[2] Areas thought to contain unexploded ordnance, but no land mines, are marked using 409 different warning signs.[3] The minefields are largely situated in forests (62%), while the rest are in agricultural land (26%) as well as karst terrain and shrubland (12%).[4]
