Earl Gowrie  United Kingdom The brigantine was lost on the Mixon Shoal, in the Bristol Channel with the loss of all hands.[1]

Ship Country Description
Rainbow  United States The clipper departed from New York for Valparaiso, Chile. No further trace, presumed foundered with the loss of all hands.

Ship Country Description
Cleofrid  United Kingdom The brig was wrecked on the Sizewell Bank, in the North Sea off the coast of Suffolk. Her nine crew were rescued by the Southwold Lifeboat.[2]

USS Onkahye  United States Navy The schooner was wrecked on a reef off Caicos. Her crew survived.

Ship Country Description
Ocean Monarch  United Kingdom
Queen of the Ocean, Ocean Monarch and Affonso.

The barque caught fire in the Irish Sea off Great Orme Head, Carnarvonshire and sank. All on board were rescued by Affonso ( Brazilian Navy), New World ( United States), Prince of Wales and Queen of the Ocean (both  United Kingdom). Ocean Monarch was on a voyage from Liverpool, Lancashire to Boston, Massachusetts, United States.

Ship Country Description
Eagle  United Kingdom The smack foundered off the Cherrystone, in the Bristol Channel. Her crew survived. She was on a voyage from Porthcawl, Glamorgan to Aberystwyth, Cardiganshire.[1]

Ship Country Description
Arietta  United Kingdom The barque was wrecked on the Mixon Sands, in the Bristol Channel off the coast of Glamorgan with the loss of one of her fifteen crew. Survivors were rescued by the paddle tug Dragon Fly ( United Kingdom).[1]
