Oh Land is the stage name of Danish pop singer-songwriter Nanna Øland Fabricius.[1][2] By 2008, Oh Land had been signed to the Danish independent record label Fake Diamond Records,[3] through which she released her debut album, Fauna.[4] The following year, she was signed to Epic Records. After relocating to Brooklyn, New York,[3] she spent much of 2010 working on her debut album; the single "Sun of a Gun" was released in late 2010, with her self-titled album released in March 2011.[1][2] Fabricius is credited for co-writing all eleven songs on the album.[2] She worked with producers Dan Carey, Dave McCracken and Lester Mendez, each of whom are also co-writers on select tracks.[5] In the United States, Oh Land reached a peak position of number 184 on the Billboard 200 and also charted on Billboard's Top Heatseekers, Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts.[6] One special edition of Oh Land featured the additional track "Speak Out Now".[7]
