Little Badger Island

Little Badger Island is a small granite island, with an area of 2.5 ha, in south-eastern Australia. It is part of Tasmania’s Badger Island Group, lying in eastern Bass Strait just west of Flinders and Cape Barren Islands in the Furneaux Group. It is a nature reserve. The island is also part of the Chalky, Big Green and Badger Island Groups Important Bird Area.[1]

Fauna

Recorded breeding seabird and wader species include little penguin, short-tailed shearwater, white-faced storm-petrel, Pacific gull, silver gull, sooty oystercatcher, black-faced cormorant and Caspian tern.[2]
