Liuyang Confucius Temple
Liuyang Confucius Temple (simplified Chinese: 浏阳文庙; traditional Chinese: 瀏陽文廟; pinyin: Liúyáng Wénmiào), is a Confucious temple located in Liuyang city, Hunan province, in the People's Republic of China. It covers an area of 6000 square meters.
History
Liuyang Confucius Temple was built in the Earlier Song Dynasty (960-1127).[1]
In 1818, in the twenty-third year of the age of Jiaqing of Jiaqing Emperor, the temple was relocated in here.
In 1843, in the twenty-third year of the age of Daoguang of Daoguang Emperor, the temple was rebuilt.
In March 2013, it was listed as a "Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level" by the State Council of China.[2][3][4]
