Live on Arrival is a Canadian rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. After walking away from their record deal in 2007, the band began performing under the name Robb Nash, the lead singer's name. In the last four years, Robb Nash has shared his stories and songs with over 850,000 kids across Canada and the United States.
Origin of name
While still in high school, Robb Nash sustained major head injuries when the car he was a passenger in was struck head on by a semi-truck; shattering his skull. [1] Discovered by his friends with no pulse, he was pronounced dead by paramedics arriving at the scene. In the ambulance on the way to the hospital, his vital signs suddenly returned, against all odds.[2] Despite this, the accident still left him in a coma for several weeks along with severe cranial injuries and a long rehabilitation process. The accident initially left Robb in a bitter mind set, questioning why this would happen to him. One day he realized that many people don't get a second chance at life and decided he was going to make the most of his second chance and use his story to encourage people not to wait until a tragedy to make every day count. Deciding that music was the best way to share his story, he formed a band naming it Live On Arrival as a reference to his accident.
Band History
Live On Arrival rose to success in the first few years of their formation, signing a record deal and performing on tours with Hedley, Finger Eleven, Buckcherry and many more. In 2007, Robb was given an opportunity to share his story in schools all across Canada. With no source of income from this he was forced to walk away from his record contract in order to do the tour. After two years performing solo across Canada, Robb teamed up with Jonny Holliday and Ryan Richley to bring a full show to students all across Canada. In the last two years the band has played to over 300 schools, played at a Canadian Scout Jamboree, and taken part in the We Day tour alongside Lights, Hedley, Marianas Trench and speakers such as Larry King and Martin Sheen.
