Loddiswell railway station is a classic William Clarke station on the Kingsbridge branch of the GWR.

Opened in December 1893 the stone built station was downgraded to a halt, unstaffed, and closed to freight in 1961.

Despite a great deal of local opposition the station was closed on 16 September 1963, and is now a private dwelling. A popular riverside footpath leads from the former Station forecourt.

'The Signal Box' annex is being redeveloped as holiday accommodation, due to open Easter 2015. Tours of the Station grounds and old platform are provided by the owners by arrangement.
