Loon Lake (Waterford Township, Michigan)

Loon Lake is a freshwater lake located in Waterford Township, Michigan. It borders Dixie Highway on the west and is south of Walton Blvd. on the north.[1] The sand-bottom lake is 243 acres, making it the 18th largest lake in Oakland County, Michigan and one of the largest in Waterford Township. At its deepest point, the lake is 73 feet deep.

Surroundings

Loon Lake is surrounded by residential neighborhoods on all sides except the western shoreline. The community, formerly called Drayton Plains, is on the lake to the west.

Fish

Loon Lake contains a variety of fish, including Black Crappie, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish, Walleye and Yellow Perch.[2]
