Lord Lieutenant of Bristol
This is a list of Lord-Lieutenants of the County and City of Bristol.
The position of Lord-Lieutenant of Bristol has existed for hundreds of years. It was usually held by the Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire except for a period from 1660 to 1672, when it was held by the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset. On 31 March 1974 the position was replaced with that of the Lord-Lieutenant of Avon, but was restored on 1 April 1996 as a separate Lord-Lieutenancy.
