Lorraine Mercer

Lorraine Mercer MBE is a British Thalidomide survivor. Her motto is "No limbs? NO LIMITS!"

Mercer was a unique representative of the global Thal community as a bearer of the Olympic Torch in 2012 for her country.[1][2]

Her Chariot was adapted to carry the Olympic Torch safely above her head away from the oxygen she needs.

A painter, lace maker and award winner for Carriage Driving with the RDA, she has raised money for various charities and has been awarded an MBE also for her pastoral work at the local hospital with the lonely.[2][3]
