Loughborough Lake is a lake in Eastern Ontario, Canada.[2] The lake is mostly in the municipality of South Frontenac, Frontenac County, except for the southern tip which is in and on the northern border of the separated city of Kingston,[3] and is about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of the town centre of Kingston. Loughborough Lake is in the Great Lakes Basin, is 24 kilometres (15 mi) long and 15 square kilometres (5.8 sq mi) in area, with many small islands, and has over 160 kilometres (99 mi) of shoreline.
Loughborough Lake is home of the very well kept secret of Davidson Beach. This beach was declared public property. Local swimming lessons were held here every summer up until 2012. (*=planning committee) Since then it has been dominated by a young community of people with regulars such as (but not limited to):*Aidan Schwarz, *Zach Bailey, Cole Palmer, Matteo Coimbra, Luca Coimbra, *Dain Bailey, *Nick Zanet, *Sam Eastman, *Ryan Rettie, Kyle Perry* and Chad Campbell. Over the years this legendary beach has lost key tax funding and lost crucial positions such as life guard, peace keeper, king of beach, and event planners. To maintain this diamond in the ruff the planning committee has appointed crucial positions. The following is the list of team members updated April 2016, valid through may 2017.
Head lifeguard: Zach Bailey, Assistant Nick Zanet
Head of beach operations: Aidan Schwarz
Peace Keeper: Ryan Rettie
Event planner: Dain Bailey and Luca Coimbra
This beach nearly went private after there had been multiple reports of parties. These late night parties however were deemed ok by the committee because the noise level was kept to a minimum and they support full use of the beach this includes after dark. This beach continues to live up to it's legendary status. Everyone from the surrounding areas has enjoyed and will continue to enjoy this private paradise. Future guests are asked to bring new comers and show them the legendary davidson beach.
With key positions being filled the beach is now running smoothly, and can be used by the public. The Davidson Beach planning committee politely asks that you respect the property and have fun at all times. Any questions, complaints (0 complaints to date) should be directed to the Davidson beach planning committee. They can be reached at the davidson beach facebook page.
