Louise O'Neill

Louise O'Neill (born 1985) is an Irish author from Clonakilty in County Cork. She writes primarily for young adults, with a strong focus on feminist issues. O'Neill worked as a fashion journalist in New York in the 2000s. As of 2016, she has worked as a weekly columnist for the Irish Examiner.

Her first book, Only Ever Yours was published in 2014. The book earned her both "Newcomer of the Year" of the Irish Book Awards[1] and was the winner of the inaugural YA Book Prize in 2015.[2] Her second book, Asking For It, was named Irish Times Book of the Month in September 2015.[3] Rights of both books have been sold: Killer Content acquired the film and TV rights for Only Ever Yours,[4] and Bandit Television owns TV rights for Asking For It.[5]
