"Love at First Sight" is the third single released from Edge of the Century by Styx.
To date, it is the last Styx single to hit the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, peaking at #25. The song also fared moderately well on the Adult Contemporary charts, peaking at #13. It also reached #20 on the Canada RPM Top Singles chart the week of June 22, 1991.
"Love at First Sight" was the only one of the album's three singles to have been written in collaboration between Dennis DeYoung and Glen Burtnik, as well as James "J.Y." Young. As with the band's prior single, "Show Me the Way", the ballad features lead vocals by DeYoung.
Despite the success of the album and its singles, the industry was changing during the early 1990s, phasing out the single format and favoring Grunge music, and "Love at First Sight" would be Styx's last Billboard Top 40 single.
