Loyola College, Mettala, is a minority Catholic, coeducational college of arts and science founded by Madurai Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits)[6] in Tamil Nadu, India, in 2015.[7] It is open to those of all faiths but is particularly dedicdted to the education of Dalits, and of the poorer and the marginalized sectors of society.[8] It was founded with the encouragement of the Bishop of the Diocese of Salem.
Chronology
In 2015 Loyola offered five programs: Bachelor of Arts in English literature, Bachelor in Commerce, Bachelor of Science in physics, in math, and in computer science.[1] Hostels for boys and for girls and a church are in the planning.
