Personal life
Lucinda founded the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety in Ohio in the early 1980s. The center's flagship product is the "Attacking Anxiety and Depression" program, which became well-known due to the long-running infomercial advertising it on late-night cable television. Bassett would eventually publish a series of books about recovery from anxiety disorder.
In the 1990s, Bassett and her family relocated to Los Angeles, California. In 2008, her husband and business partner David Bassett committed suicide at their home in Malibu. Lucinda subsequently sold the Midwest Center for Stress and Anxiety, published a memoir about her husband's suicide, and refocused her career as a coach for people dealing with grief and loss. As of September, 2015, the Midwest Center advertises itself on its website as "Stress Center" with a mailing address in Santa Monica, California. .
Bassett is the mother of two children and lives in Los Angeles.
