Luhara is a village of Chaprauli Vidhan Sabha ( Hindi: विधान सभा ) or the ' Legislative Assembly' . It is located in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, India.[1] It is famous for Banasura temple in the heart of village. It is sometimes called "Sherpur Luhara". Sherpur is nearby village of Luhara. It is come under the tehsil of Baraut.

People

People of all religions live here. In recent times the majority are jat people.

History

According to legend, this place is related to demon Bana (also called Banasura), due to which a temple called Baba banasur chatri temple is situated in the Luhara. Some of the villagers believe that their village's God comes every Sunday to bless the people of village.

According to sources, people migrated here from Indus Valley region many years ago. According to local sources, migrating people stopped here due to appropriate Food and Fodder availability, which they attributed to the blessing of Baba banasur chatri at this place.

Geography

It is located at 10 km from Baraut, 60 km from National Capital Delhi via NH-57 and 45 km from the district "Shamli". Luhara come under the district "Baghpat", and is situated 30 km from district headquarters "Baghpat".

Climate

This village has very good climatic condition due to its location far away from any industry and availability of enough trees and plants which also shows the vegetation.

Agriculture

Most people of the village depend upon agriculture. Rice, wheat, bajra, maize, sugarcane etc. are grown in this region but basic source of income is sugarcane due to which a sugarcane mill is set up by "KN MODI" with the help of Late choudhary Charan Singh, former PM of India and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Saroha (gotra)

Saroha (सरोहा), Saroa (सरोआ) or Siroha (सिरोहा) gotra of Jaat live in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Pakistan. They are the follower of Lord Shiva & considered to be Shivagotri. The full name of the gotra is CHAUDAHRANASAROHA (14 in Hindi). Agroha is a derivative of the word Saroha and exists as a separate gotra. Malak, Gathwala, Tank, Bura and Sagroha is the gotras of the same dynasty. People live in Luhara have majority of Saroha gotra.

Education

There are two govt. school available in village and one inter college and one CBSE school for development of the village. People from this village is served in various forces like Military, Navy, Police, etc. & various govt. departments.
