Lumbini (Nepali: लुम्बिनी अञ्चल
Listen ) is one of the fourteen zones of Nepal and home to the Lumbini site, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama,[1] who later became the historical Buddha and founder of the Buddhist philosophy. The zone's headquarters is Butwal.
