Lutheran High School West is a private college-prep Christian co-ed high school in Rocky River, serving Cleveland and Northeast Ohio families since 1958
Facilities and History
The 17 acre campus includes 27 classrooms, two gymnasiums, an auditorium, wrestling room, multiple locker rooms, a wood shop, offices, library, cafeteria, eating area, weight room, multi-media room, and a Success Center. Rooms include four computer labs (including an iMac lab), an art room, three science labs, a greenhouse, a technical room, and a home economics area. The building has total Wi-Fi access and is also wired for computer access throughout. The campus includes a baseball field, football stadium with a turf field and all-weather track, and practice field.
In 1958, the school separated from the old Lutheran High School in downtown Cleveland (due to the construction of Interstate 90) into Lutheran High School West and Lutheran High School East.
In 2003, the building of a $7 million addition enhanced many areas, especially the science labs and adding the second gym. A $5 million Capital Campaign is currently underway to further enhance the campus of Lutheran West.
In 2011, Lutheran West began The Honors Academy with freshman and sophomore students who qualified, led by Mr. Mike Waugh.
