The Luxembourg Fund Labelling Agency (LuxFLAG) is an independent, non profit-making international labelling agency that aims to promote the raising of capital for Responsible Investing sectors.

Scope and offer

The primary activity of LuxFLAG is the awarding of a quality label to eligible investment vehicles, which are usually investment funds. The objective of this label is to reassure investors that the vehicle actually invests, directly or indirectly, in Responsible Investing sector.

These may be domiciled in any jurisdiction that is subject to a level of national supervision equivalent to that available in European Union countries.

Governance

The honorary president of LuxFLAG is Maria Teresa, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.

The agency was created in Luxembourg on 20 July 2006 by seven local institutions:[1] the European Investment Fund (EIF), the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI), the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL), the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, the Appui au Développement Autonome (ADA), the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance and the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On 14 December 2009, Luxembourg for Finance, the financial sector promotion agency, joined[2] as a member.

Board of Directors Thomas Seale - Chairman : Mr. Thomas Seale serves as Chief Executive Officer of European Fund Administration S.A. Mr. Seale has been Chairman of The Luxembourg Fund Labelling Agency since July 2, 2012. He served as chairman of ALFI from 2003 to 2007, and its vice-chairman from 2007 to 2011. He is a member of the CSSF OPC Committee, member of the board of ALFI (Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry), and chairman of ALFI's Technical Committee on Responsible Investing.
