Geographic range

Species of Lygisaurus are found in Australia and New Guinea.[2]

Nota bene: A binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Lygisaurus.

Etymology

The specific name, macfarlani, is in honor of English Missionary Samuel Macfarlane (1837–1911).[3]

The specific name, tanneri, is in honor of Australian herpetologist Charles Tanner (1911–1996).[3]
