Munisamy Thambidurai is an Indian politician who serves as the current Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha[1] and leader of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament.[2] He had served as the Cabinet Minister of Law, Justice and Company Affairs and as the Minister of State of Surface Transport from March 1998 to April 1999. He had also served as the Deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 1985 to 1989.[3]

Thambidurai was first elected as a Member of Parliament to the 8th Lok Sabha in 1984 from Dharmapuri and was subsequently elected to the 9th Lok Sabha, 12th Lok Sabha, 15th Lok Sabha and 16th Lok Sabha.

Thambidurai contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Karur in Tamil Nadu and was subsequently elected as a member of the Indian Parliament. He has been serving as the leader of AIADMK in the Lok Sabha since 2009.
