MEF University is a non-profit private university founded by the İbrahim Arıkan Education and Scientific Research Foundation. MEF University, which will admit its first students in the academic year 2014-2015, aims to become a university that keeps entrepreneurship, innovative thinking and creativity in the foreground and has the ability to create global and local value-added with its distinct educational model.[2] MEF University is the first university in the world that has adopted the “Flipped Classroom” educational model university-wide.

History

The foundation of MEF Educational Institutions dates back to year 1972 when the MEF Tutoring Schools were established. The MEF Educational Institutions have created a difference in education with their accumulation of knowledge and experience over 40 years, and MEF University was established by the İbrahim Arıkan Education and Scientific Research Foundation with the aim to carry on this success at the level of higher education.

International

MEF University has embraced a comprehensive and multidimensional internationalization strategy. MEF University's global engagement will include, but not be restricted to, curriculum cooperation, student and faculty mobility, program and institutional mobility, and research mobility.

All academic programs are benchmarked to the top global institutions and formulated in adherence to international accreditation standards and in alignment to the Bologna Process. The ECTS is the internal and only credit system. The medium of education is 100% English (except School of Law, 30%) and the international faculty ratio aimed to be 50%.

Educational method

MEF University is the only university in the world that has adopted “Flipped Classroom” educational method university-wide (Flipped Classroom), thus replacing the 900-year-old traditional university education system in a world where digital technology prevails in all aspects of our lives.
