MIX Copenhagen
MIX Copenhagen | LesbianGayBiTrans Film Festival is one of the oldest LGBT film festivals in the world. Formerly known as CGLFF - Copenhagen Gay & Lesbian Film Festival (1986-2010), it is the oldest and one of the biggest film festivals in Denmark. In 2010 the name was changed to MIX COPENHAGEN. It has other small LGBT film festivals associated to it as MIX Århus, MIX Odense and MIX Aalborg. It screens a selection of approximately 60 features, 25 documentaries and 30 short films and takes place during the last week of October each year. The festival is attended by more than 10.000 people each year.
Awards
MIX Copenhagen | LesbianGayBiTrans Film Festival has two different awards:
- Lili – named after Lili Elbe, the first person to undergo sex reassignment surgery in the world. It is given to the best feature, best documentary and best short film chosen by an international jury, and also to the audience's voted choice as favorite film. It consists of a statuette designed by artist Saskia Bisp.
- Bent - named after the first Danish homosexual character from the film Lille spejl (1978). It is given for the best LGBT character created in Denmark during the previous year and consists of a cash prize.
