Mac & Cheese: The Album is the upcoming second studio album by American rapper French Montana. It will be the fifth installment in the "Mac & Cheese" series, and the first to be released as an album. In late March 2016, French Montana revealed in an interview with Billboard that the album is completed and ready for release.[1]

Background

On November 9, 2013, French Montana revealed an early cover art teasing the release of "Mac & Cheese 4" but had not specified whether it would be a mixtape or an album.[2] The rapper had recently released his debut album Excuse My French earlier that year. In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine on January 8, 2014, French confirmed that the record would be his sophomore album to be released later in the year.[3] On June 29, in an interview with MTV News during the 2014 BET Awards, French revealed the album to be dropping in November, and would include collaborations from the likes of Kanye West, will.i.am and fellow Coke Boys Lil Durk and Chinx.[4]

Following an unexpected pushback, on December 8, French Montana announced the release of an EP collaboration with long-time producer Harry Fraud, entitled Mac & Cheese: The Appetizer to be released on December 16, as a prequel to the upcoming Mac & Cheese: The Album.[5] Following another round of delays, the mixtape was finally released on December 19 and featured seven tracks.[5] With persisting delays throughout 2015, in the meantime, French released his nineteenth mixtape Casino Life 2 on May 8 and his collaborative mixtape with Fetty Wap titled Coke Zoo on October 26, with the album pushed back well into 2016. He would then go and release his twentieth mixtape Wave Gods hosted by Max B.
