The Madagascan plover (Charadrius thoracicus) is a species of bird in the Charadriidae family. It is also called the black-banded plover. It is endemic to Madagascar.

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, sandy shores, intertidal marshes, and coastal saline lagoons. It is the world's smallest plover, at 11.5 g and 13.5 cm (5.3 in).
