The Madagascan starling (Saroglossa aurata) is a species of starling in the family Sturnidae. It is endemic to Madagascar.[1]

Commonly included as part of the genus Saroglossa, the Madagascan starling is alternatively described as Hartlaubius auratus, in which case it is monotypic in the genus Hartlaubius.[2] (As Saroglossa contains two species, this alternative classification makes the spot-winged starling monotypic as well.)
