Maharashtra Academy of Engineering

The MIT Academy of Engineering (MIT AOE)(Formerly known as Maharashtra Academy of Engineering) at the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Education Research (MAEER) in Pune is an engineering autonomous college affiliated to the University of Pune, India and Accredited by NAAC with "A" Grade in 2014. It was established in the year 1999. It is approved and accredited by AICTE. Its 3rd autonomous college in Pune. The college provides both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs.[1]

Eligibility

Passed the HSC (10+2) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with following subjects: English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% marks i.e. not less than 150 marks out of 300 marks (45% marks i.e. not less than 135 marks out of 300 marks for reserve category candidates from Maharashtra) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together.

a) For the candidate of Maharashtra State In addition to educational qualification as specified, candidates are required to appear for MHT-CET 2016 and secure nonzero score to be eligible for admission for State Quota (65%) seats through Central Assessment Process (CAP).

b) For candidates outside of Maharashtra State In addition to educational qualification as specified, candidates from Maharashtra State as well as outside Maharashtra State are required to appear & qualify in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (JEE main-2016) conducted by C.B.S.E., New Delhi for the Academic Year - 2016-17 to be eligible for admission.

c) For the candidates wishing admission under Management Quota Candidates from Maharashtra State as well as from outside Maharashtra State having educational qualification as specified, are eligible for Management Quota seats provided they have appeared for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE 2016) conducted by the competent Authority or conducted by an agency (if any) including Association of all Pvt. colleges approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samittee. However, they are required to apply separately to the Management of the respective institutes for these seats.

d) For Diploma holder candidates After admissions of candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria mentioned at para (a, b & c) above, if the vacancies still exist after the cut-off date declared by the concerned Government authority, the Principal may admit diploma holders who have passed the diploma course in Engineering / Technology with minimum of 50% marks and medium of instruction as English from Polytechnics affiliated to MSBTE or AICTE approved autonomous Polytechnics in Maharashtra State (for Maharashtra State Candidates) or such polytechnics situated in or outside the MH State (for outside Maharashtra State Candidates). Such admissions are also as per merit of candidates applied for the particular un-aided college.

Library

The MIT AOE Central Library started operation from the year 1999 with a collection in discipline like Computer, Electronics, Chemical and E&TC Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. Information Technology, MBA and MCA. Its rich collection is growing very fast in terms of books, journals and services.[3]

The library has a collection of text books, reference books, general books, journals and magazines, encyclopedia, handbooks, data sheets, bound volumes, CD-ROMs, Video Lectures, online resources and other reading material. Books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. It has excellent infrastructure to meet its requirements, all its operations are computerized using slim software and provides access to the collection through OPAC. MIT Academy Of Engineering library follows open access system that allows users a direct access to the library collection. In Addition to being the first ISO certified engineering library, it is also the first engineering library in Pune that implemented barcode technology for circulation

The built up area of the library is 9578.53 sq. ft. (905 sq. mt). The reading hall accommodates 150 students at a time. Air conditioned library has conducive atmosphere, adequately lighted infrastructure for reading. It consists of reading hall, journal section, reference section, circulation section, Stack section, Acquisition and technical section, staff room and an office for the librarian.[4]
