Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mahmoud Hassani Sorkhi (Arabic: السيد محمود الحسني الصرخي) (born December 1.1964) is an Iraqi Twelver Shi'a Marja.[1][2]
He has studied in seminaries of Najaf, Iraq under Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammad Sadeq al-Sadr and Ali al-Sistani.[3] He is the youngest living man commonly accorded the status of Grand Ayatollah, and is the only one (as of 2010) under the age of fifty.
