The Maine Moose Trax is a United States Lacrosse League team based in Portland, Maine. It is owned by Joshua Plowman.
It was announced December 2, 2013 that the team would play its first season in the fall of 2014 at the Cross Insurance Arena, though arena trustees called the announcement premature and stated no final agreement had been reached. It was the first franchise announced for the league.[1]
History
Founding
The USLL was formed in 2013 to fill a void in the lacrosse world by giving an opportunity for Americans to get involved in indoor lacrosse, filling the spot left vacant after the demise of other leagues like the North American Lacrosse League.[2] On December 2, 2013 the league unveiled the Moose Trax as their very first league member. The team is the first ever professional lacrosse team in the state of Maine.[3]
