State Route 221 (SR 221) is a north–south state highway from SR 15 in Bangor at its southern terminus to SR 11 and SR 155 in Bradford at its northern terminus. It is 16.05 miles (25.83 km) long. The entire route is in Penobscot County.
Route description
SR 221 begins at SR 15 in Bangor. It then heads north. SR 221 heads near Pushaw Lake, but not along it. Entering Hudson, SR 43 branches off SR 221. The two routes then have a brief 2.30-mile-long (3.70 km) concurrency before SR 43 branches off SR 221 again. SR 221 continues in its northward direction. It then intersects SR 11 and SR 155 in Bradford, where the route ends.
