Maite Beaumont

Mezzo soprano Maite Beaumont was born in Pamplona (Spain) where she studied voice and violin at the Pablo Sarastre Conservatory and sociology at the University of Navarra. She completed her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg with Hanna Schwarz. She won numerous awards, including the "Voice with the best future[1]".

Career

In 2000 she joined Hamburg State Opera’s Young Artist Programme where she jumped in as Ruggiero in their new production of Alcina in 2002,[2] after which she joined the company as a member of their ensemble in 2003 until 2006, where she regularly appeared in many important roles of her repertoire. In 2005 she gave her debut at the Salzburg Festival as Dorabella[3] in Cosi Fan Tutte.

She has appeared at the Opéra national de Paris, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona,[4] at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, at the Bayerische Staatsoper, at the Staatsoper unter den Linden Berlin, at the Théâtre du Capitol in Toulouse, at the Teatro Real in Madrid, at the Teatro della Scana in Milan, at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile and at the Lyric Opera Chicago. She gave her much acclaimed debut at the Salzburg festival in 2005 as Dorabella in “Così fan tutte”.

Maite Beaumont’s large opera repertoire includes amongst others Sesto (“La Clemenza di Tito”), Donna Elvira (“Don Giovanni”), Rosina (“Il Barbiere di Siviglia”), Angelina (“La Cenerentola”) and Composer (“Ariadne auf Naxos”).

Concert Singer

Maite Beaumont is also a very active concert singer and her repertoire includes works from baroque to contemporary music. She performed with orchestras like the Academy of Ancient Music, Bamberger Symphoniker, Bremer Kammerphilharmonie, Camerata Salzburg, Ensemble Resonanz, Il Complesso Barocco, the Mozarteum Orchester, Ensemble Intercomporain Paris and worked with conductors such as Ivor Bolton, Alan Curtis, Giovanni Antonini, Christoph Eschenbach, Adam Fischer, Emanuelle Haim, Martin Haselböck, Christipher Hogwood, Ingo Metzmacher, Sir Roger Norrington, Christopher Rousset, Simone Young and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
